Farewell camping trip

One of the things we wanted to do before we moved was camp one more time. We convinced the Brimhalls to come with us. Although Angie had to work, Jeff, Hadley, and Hyrum came, and we decided to go to Mohican State Park, which is a couple of hours south of us.

This is at a look out not too far from our campsite. Can you believe the green??? I think it's beautiful!

There was also an old fire tower that we could climb. I'm not sure how many feet high it was, but I hope you can appreciate how TALL it was! We were all (except Chris and Jeff) a bit nervous by the time we got to the top, but we all did it!

1 - Annie and Hadley: BFF's! 2 - Brigham was way into dressing like a pirate around this time, so he insisted on wearing his bandanna. I think he looks awesome! 3 - Making s'mores and banana-ramas - YUM!

The Brimhalls had to leave early the next morning, but we went further south to Hocking Hills so we could hike around there before we went home. Unfortunately, it poured on us the whole time! Chris and I dragged the kids around anyway.

This second picture is in a cave called the Rock House. It was so cool! There were big nooks and crannies that formed rooms, and there were rock/dirt "slides" that the kids slid down.

This is at Ash Creek. There's a shallow area where a tall, thin waterfall comes down. Annie's standing under it.
The kids had had it, after Ash Creek so we headed home. The beautiful greenery is one of the things I will miss the most in Ohio!

More goodbyes - summer, post 2

Here are a few pictures of Chris operating - I'll leave out the bloody ones :)

These are of Chris' graduation from the Urology program:

The chief residents of 2009/2010: Previn, Chris, Amit, and Carvel . . .

. . . and the wives.

Congratulations Chris! The Clinic had no idea who they were getting when they decided to accept someone from the University of Utah for the first time. You made such a great impression on everyone you came in contact with. You work hard, get along with everyone, and you are an amazing surgeon! And you did all this while supporting a family. Your kids adore you, and so do I. Thank you for sacrificing your sleep and free time for us. We love you and we're so proud of you.

Our crazy summer, post 1

I'm finally getting a chance to post about our summer, starting with saying goodbye to Ohio. The pictures below are of Annie's teachers, 1 - Mrs. Devine and Mrs. Dipiero and 2 - Meredith, Annie, and Gillian

This is at the 4th grade graduation from Lomond. Annie had two wonderful teachers, and she made some great friends this year.

Molly, Sophie, Madison, Annie, and Dawn (the boys, Gabe and Chad, refused to be with the girls!)

Noah's best friends, Andrew and Colin

Noah had the greatest teacher this last year, Mr. Mortus. Noah loved school this year, and he really progressed. Mr. Mortus was so patient and positive, which is exactly what Noah needs in a teacher!

Goodbye Lomond.

I've posted about our next door neighbor, Jane, before. We so wish we could have brought her with us to Rochester. I can't say enough about her. She made us wonderful food, took care of our house whenever we were gone, gave me great advice about kids and gardening, and most of all, she LOVED our kids. I'll always remember our great conversations, especially while one or both of us worked in our yards.
Goodbye Jane, we love you!
